本片為賣座電影系列《香港奇案》的第三集，分兩個故事，各有不同的幕前及幕後班底。第一個故事「老爺車縱火案」，由于榮及顧冠忠主演，描述無牌色情場所起火，釀成傷亡慘劇，警方疑是縱火案；第二個故事「法網難逃」，由凌雲及王鍾主演，描述一位探長被歹徒殺害，警方懸紅五萬元緝兇……
