来自格拉芙家的梅根（克莱尔·C·约翰逊 Clare C. Johnson 饰）和艾比（吉莲·默瑞 Jillian Murray 饰）是一对性格各异却亲密无间的好姐妹。梅根强势独立，拥有自己的主见，相对来说艾比则显得有些怯懦。不久前，梅根取得市场营销学位，正准备离开凤凰城前往纽约开展自己的事业。在姐妹俩相处的最后几天，她们决定驱车前往一个不知名的地方探险。
她们一路来到统一村的骷髅矿，这里在70年前曾经喧嚣繁华，但一场爆炸之后就变得萧索破败，成为名副其实的鬼城。艾比心有惴惴，而梅根却对此颇感兴趣。只是她的兴奋并未持续多久，格拉芙姐妹很快便发现，这座业已荒弃的小镇竟然充满血腥与杀戮，而她们不知不觉也深陷其中……
